Extra Special Philosophy in Public Spaces Event – One night only! – Decisions, Decisions: a short play to inspire critical thought – Saturday 25th September from 7.30 (online)

I never thought to see these two on our PiPs website, but this is something very new! Tomorrow night (or tonight if you’re reading this on Saturday or you missed it already if after that) we are giving a collective performance of John Mooney’s short play ‘Decisions, Decisions’, which was written in the context of our discussion of Free Will and Determinism.

From the playwright: I present to you a whimsical treatment of an historical event which at the time was the subject of massive criticism for the decisions that were taken versus the possible decisions which could have been taken but were not.

Characters:

  • The Ultimate Form of Being: TUFOB,
  • Tony Blair Ex Prime Minister: TB,
  • George W Bush Ex President: GWB,
  • Emil Zapata, Burrito Vendor and Revolutionary: EZ

The scene: In the post physical death interview room, the The Ultimate Form of Being (so far) is deputising for St Peter who is having to do serious overtime following the abdication of responsibility for their actions by the Western Powers in Afghanistan. In this reality there was a successful dual assassination of Tony Blair and George W Bush during a photo opportunity at a Breakfast Burrito Stand in Texas where they intended to“expose Biden’s imbecility”. (Their assassin was shot and killed by the Secret Service immediately after serving the exploding Burrito)

So, come and play your part and perform a philosophical play with us (or come and applaud our bravado!) – and join the discussion, because afterwards, we will discuss the issues that arise and some may well imbibe drink as well as thoughts and ideas.
